FAQs
1. What is freeze-drying?
The freeze-drying process removes the entire water content from the food while retaining its nutrients, aroma, taste and structure. First, the food is frozen, and then it is processed in a vacuum. The process is called Sublimation. In this process, the ice crystal directly transforms into vapour skipping the liquid stage. The food that is left behind is dried but still has its original shape, taste, and nutritional value.
2. How should I store freeze-dried products?
Store freeze-dried products in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once the packaging is opened, it's best to it immediately or store it in an airtight container. This will prevent the food from absorbing moisture. Freeze-dried foods can last a lot longer if they are stored appropriately.
3. Are freeze-dried foods nutritious?
Yes, freeze-dried foods are equally nutritious as natural fruits. The freeze-drying process retains most of the food's original nutrients, flavour and texture. In the Freeze-drying process, the food doesn't lose nutrients like other methods of food preservation, so it's a great way to store food for a longer time.
